She has over 15 years of experience specializing in children’s entertainment and retail branding. Shelly has led initiatives and developed products for companies such as Scholastic, The Walt Disney Company, Hasbro and more. She lives in downtown Manhattan with her husband and two daughters.

JB melanie grisanti bioMelanie Grisanti is an executive producer with over 25 years experience specializing in creative, production and development for children’s media across platforms. She has produced hundreds of episodes of award-winning programming for clients/networks such as Disney/ABC (Disney’s Doug, 101 Dalmatians, Stanley), Nickelodeon/Noggin (Doug, Pinky Dinky Doo) and Random House Home Video (Richard Scarry). As VP, Production, for National Geographic Kids Entertainment, Grisanti also oversaw many international co-productions including Toot and Puddle, Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies and Are We There Yet: World Adventure for network delivery worldwide.

JB BarbaraZurerPearson, Ph.D    Barbara Zurer Pearson, Ph.D. is the author of more than 100 professional articles and presentations in applied linguistics and speech-language assessment.  Her book for parents, Raising a Bilingual Child (Random House, 2008), has been translated into Spanish and Polish, and now a Chinese edition will appear in 2015. Dr. Zurer Pearson combines her interests in first and second language acquisition by studying childhood bilinguals, as she has for more than 25 years–first at the University of Miami (FL) and now at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She takes great pleasure in advising parents and teachers how to help their children learn languages through play.

JB Renee Cherow-O'Leary, Ph.D. bio    Renée Cherow-O’Leary, Ph.D. is President of Education for the 21st Century and specializes in curriculum development and the collaborative design of educational programs on all platforms for children and teens, parents and teachers.  She is a former Research Director for Sesame Street and her clients include Disney, Sprout, PBS, HIT Entertainment and the U.S. Department of Education Ready to Learn initiatives. Dr. Cherow-O’Leary is a former professor of English Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard in the Arts and Education Program. She recently spoke in China as a curriculum consultant for Disney English, an English language learning program, is a featured educator on WNET’s Teaching Channel.

JB Beth Richman bioBeth A. Richman, Ed.M. is an educational consultant with expertise in designing educational goals for curriculum-based content for preschool and school age children.  A veteran of both Scholastic Media and Sesame Workshop, Beth has spent much time in program development, international research and outreach on such series as Maya and Miguel and 3-2-1 Contact. She has co-authored numerous articles on issues related to creating educational media for children and is a contributing author to the book “G is for Growing”: Thirty years of Research on Children and Sesame Street. Beth holds and ED.M. from Harvard and a B.A in English from Amherst College.

    Linda Kahn is an expert in forging strategic business and creative partnerships in all aspects of children’s media and entertainment. As a top consultant, Kahn works with clients in the areas of co-production and financing, program acquisitions, sales, distribution, development, licensing/consumer products, publishing and global brand building. At Scholastic Media, she transformed significant intellectual properties (including WordGirl, Maya & Miguel, and Clifford The Big Red Dog) into major cross-platform media franchises.  Prior to joining Scholastic Media in 1995, Kahn spent 12 years in senior executive positions at Nickelodeon and MTV Networks.
